You know all those awkward first encounters that this season's Bachelorette,?Desiree, had when she met her potential suitors? Now you can have that same experience, right in the comfort of your own home!
OK, we kid... or do we? Chris Harrison — The Bachelorette's host?— and series creator Mike Fleiss just released an iPhone dating app designed to let you "meet" potential dates via video profiles before deciding whether or not they're worth your time.
"We created At First Sight because we wanted to do something for the millions of people out there who want to find love," Harrison said in a statement. "You can only learn so much from a photo, but video profiles really give you a sense of who someone is and whether you'd like to meet them in person. It's an easier, more natural way to connect with people and figure out if you have chemistry together."
The app is actually pretty brilliant: We're now able to "test out" a guy before ever contacting him?— no more relying on photos and sparse dating profiles. The best part? You can simply ignore the ones who seem a little clingy or creepy without them even knowing about you.
Not included: a Neil Lane engagement ring. That's probably a good thing, though.
